Position: Sr. Quality Manager (Aerospace Electronics)

Description

Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms nationally with our staffing services for over 65 years. Our national/international aerospace client with roots back to the 1850's, has a plant in Fort Walton, FL (Panhandle). They are looking for a Sr. Quality Manager to join their organization. This is a direct salaried employee position (up to $175K) plus bonus.

This is an onsite position in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Electronics experience required. Come work/live just minutes from pristine white sandy beaches at the resort town of Ft. Walton Beach.

The Quality Manager will have 8 direct reports (4 QE's, 3 quality techs, and 1 quality supervisor with 8 inspectors on that team). This is an aerospace electronics facility.

This position provides quality leadership and has full responsibility for Site Quality regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, for product life cycle from Product development, New product Introduction, Production, Supply Chain to Product Support.

The incumbent must be a proven effective quality leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, demonstrated performance results and a continual improvement mindset.

  • Directly lead and manage functional quality organization on a day-to-day basis to meet all Aerospace AS9100 Quality Management System requirements
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) within Product Development/ New product Introduction Process by integrating organization, industry, and customer quality requirements into new design development projects using AS9145
  • Effectively manages the supply base quality performance over the lifecycle (selection, qualification, management, monitoring and measurement. Ensure that the quality of purchased materials meets requirements and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Establish a zero defect culture by leading the deployment and continuous improvement of based on AS9145
  • Ensure the effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to achieve improvement in Site business key metrics and quality processes key metrics.
  • Develop and implement a quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and lead the efforts to integrate quality into development of short and long terms business plans. Establish proactive business impact, planning, budgeting, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources for quality function.
  • Led effort to define and train employees on root-cause analysis and problem solving tools to identify effective corrective actions/process improvements
  • Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
  • Analyze and resolve customer complaints and field reliability issues. Coordinate product and component failure analysis. Drive corrective action, and inspection of all program hardware to J-STD-001 and IPC
    610 and documentation and supplier quality improvements
Job Requirements

Required Skills /

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering highly preferred, but other degrees will be considered.

Min 5 years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing Quality Assurance (ideally in the defense, space electronics, or high-end aerospace industry), including exposure to product development design quality. (At least 2 years of electronics manufacturing experience required).

Min 3 years of experience with advanced product quality planning in high reliability product development/ new product introduction

Min 1 year of experience with DCMA, DLA

Min 2 years of process controls experience (e.g., AS9145, control plans, process capability assessments, measurement systems analysis)

This is a U.S. military defense supplier, the individual must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance if needed in future.

APQP PPAP

Strongly preferred experience with APQP tools - Process flow Diagram, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process Capability, SPC

Six Sigma Belt

Medical device ISO 13485 experience is a plus
