Electrical Engineer III​/IV

Job Overview

At Zone 5 Technologies, we are redefining the future of unmanned aircraft systems. Our engineering team is developing autonomous solutions that push the boundaries of UAS technology. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III/IV to contribute to cutting‑edge flight systems.

• Design, develop and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms.
• Develop and debug microcontroller systems and circuits.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into UAS platforms.
• Maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and documentation for electrical systems.
• Act as the avionics liaison between engineering and the production line.
• Address and close out non‑conformances from the production line.
• Develop and perform electrical tests and test procedures to verify system functionality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality electrical systems.

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting circuits in UAS platforms.
• Proficiency in Altium for circuit board and harness design.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, power supplies and CAN bus communication.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

• 3 Months:
  Work on existing UAS electrical systems projects, learn development processes and systems, and participate in cross‑functional integration.
• 6 Months:
  Lead small electrical systems projects, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and take over responsibility for closing out avionics NCRs from the production line.
• 12 Months:
  Take full responsibility as the liaison between the avionics design engineering team and the production line.

Pay range for this role: $105,000 USD – $155,000 USD.
