Air Reserve Technicians are full‑time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 926 OPERATIONS GP with the military rank of Major (O‑4), AFSC:014N3.

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99‑569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.

This position is in the Excepted Service.

Major Duties
  • The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to accomplish Senior Intelligence Officer functions in support of programs essential to AFRC daily operations, training, & readiness missions. Work performed includes providing planning, direction, organizing and control over activities and personnel assigned to the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance section within Det 1, 926 OG. Also, trains reservists.

    DUTY 1:
    Directs the operational activities of the Det 1, 926 OG intelligence section. Develops goals and objectives that integrate Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) objectives. DUTY 2:
    Organizes, plans, and oversees the activities of the intelligence section. Maintains oversight and authority for tasking of Air Force Reserve forces conducting / supporting multi‑disciplined ISR operations in support of U. S. Air Force, DoD, and National level Agencies in the areas of formal training, theater and area of operations exercise scenario development and mentorship and positional training for ISR operational planners at the Air Force Forces (AFFOR) Staff and Air and Space Operations Centers (AOC) worldwide.

    DUTY 3:
    Plans, directs, coordinates, reviews and evaluates non‑kinetic operations annual service level and DoD/JCS level exercises and events supporting JFACC and AOC training. Manages, oversees, and integrates intelligence functions to provide non‑kinetic and situational awareness necessary to successfully plan and conduct exercise operations and training in support of the commanders and other customers within the assigned areas of responsibility. DUTY 4:
    Manages training and readiness for the ISR section. Develops career field training goals and objectives in accordance with HAFs AFRCs ACCs DoDs and Director of National Intelligence guidelines. DUTY 5:
    Represents Det 1, 926 OG with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Represents the unit regarding intelligence program policies, procedures, and issues.
