This position works with the substance use, mental health, and criminal justice population by providing detoxification, medication management, recovery counseling, mental health services, and linkage to other Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) services. The Recovery Nurse works alongside counselors to provide individual and group counseling services, teaching strategies for living a substance‑free life, and aiding in establishing a relapse prevention plan as part of a long‑term approach to recovery.

The clients served in this program have a variety of criminogenic, social, and psychiatric needs which are addressed through coordination between BCI Forensic Counselors, Case Managers, and other external agencies.

Applicants must be comfortable routinely working in a team setting and capable of managing the clients on the unit. BCI seeks applicants who have good observation skills, enthusiastic personality, ability to work well with behavioral health patients, and true motivation to help others in the community.

• Provide hands‑on care to patients with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.
• Observe, treat, and interact with patients, carry out Prescribers’ orders, and coordinate care and services as needed.
• Report back on how the treatment is working or any unusual symptoms that need professional attention.
• Participate in planning and implementing patient Treatment Plans, including interviewing patients and answering medication questions.
• Make referrals to other internal BCI departments and assist Prescribers with daily tasks.
• Assist patients with questions about their medications, gather information to assist the Prescriber, and coordinate care.

Part‑time associates are not eligible for any benefits except the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

• Clear and active FL Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN).
• Ability to obtain an HIV/AIDS 501 Certification as needed.
• Specific experience in psychiatric treatment is preferred.
• Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish preferred (not required).
• Pass an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check, drug screen, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
• At least twenty‑one (21) years old and hold a valid Florida Driver’s License with no more than three (3) points on the driving record to be insured under BCI's automobile insurance policy.
