Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a PICC RN to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to deliver competent and clinically appropriate placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Lines and/or Midlines as ordered. You will be required to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology of central line placement/peripheral vascular, aseptic technique, ability to confirm line placement via chest x-ray, successful placement of a PICC three or more times under direct supervision of a Certified PICC nurse, and knowledge of maintenance and care of catheters.

You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process.
  • Assess patient past and current medical history including laboratory values, venous and musculoskeletal status pertinent to PICC placement.
  • Inserts PICC line and IV catheter, determines placement via x-ray follow-up, and documents the procedure.
  • Plan, evaluate and implement interventions for solving IV related patient care problems.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during PICC placement to minimize patient discomfort and trauma.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and assessment related to vascular access devices.
  • Provide patient education about PICC (or midline) insertion and post-insertion care and maintenance.
  • Provide facility nurses/staff instructions about PICC (or midline) care and maintenance.
  • Keep current on IV advances in IV therapy.
Job Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required;
    Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
  • BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start
  • ACLS required within 6 months of starting
  • PALS preferred
  • PICC Certification course required within first 90 days of start date
  • 1+ years of Critical Care experience preferred
