Physical Therapist; PT), Part Time Rotating Shift, Acute Care

Adventist Health Care seeks to hire an experienced Physical Therapist for our Acute Care Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

• Performs an initial examination and evaluation to establish a impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care prior to intervention.
• Provides, or directs and supervises, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care.
• Reexamines the patient as necessary during an episode of care to evaluate progress or change in patient status and modifies the plan accordingly or discontinues services.
• In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plans for discharge of the patient considering anticipated goals and outcomes, and provides for appropriate follow‑up or referral.
• Communicates, coordinates and documents all aspects of patient management with care team members.
• Supervises and directs the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants and volunteers.
• Manages schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and informs management of any issues with caseload management.
• Attends team meetings and effectively communicates patient status using the medical record or other treating therapists when needed.
• Responsible for individual professional development activities.
• Educates and provides consultation to consumers, healthcare professionals, students and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Preferably 1 year site specific experience.
• Active Maryland License.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

One to two weekend commitments, variable part‑time.

$34.58 – $59.94 per hour.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as Non‑Exempt.
