Oversees implementation of data management tools and technologies.
Collaborates with stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Job Duties Design enterprise-level database architecture and standards.
Develop strategies for scalability, security, and high availability.
Plan and lead database modernization and migration projects.
Establish data governance frameworks and policies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Analyze and optimize database performance across platforms.
Plan for future capacity and resource requirements.
Implement automation for provisioning and maintenance.
Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate best practices.
Work with cross-functional teams on architecture decisions.
Mentor DBAs and developers on database best practices.
Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED7 years related work experience
Proficiency in relational and cloud database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, and Google Cloud SQL.Strong expertise in data modeling and architecture (ER modeling, normalization, schema design) and performance tuning techniques such as query optimization, indexing, and knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery strategies (clustering, replication, Always On) and security practices including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control.
Experience with automation and scripting using Power Shell, Python, T-SQL, and PL/SQL, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible for database provisioning.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (SQL Profiler, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Solar Winds DPA) and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. or Master’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Physical Demands Lift and carry 7 lbs., continuous sitting 67%, frequent keyboard use/repetitive motion, frequent fine motor activity/wrist position deviation.
