We are excited to announce an opening for a part-time, year-round Youth Services Caregiver to join our team. This position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday
, with the possibility of additional hours when children are out of session. This includes, but is not limited to, summer, spring, fall, and winter breaks. The starting pay rate is $13-15 per hour. This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children and youth. The caregiver will provide after-school supervision, assist with homework, and lead engaging age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and fun.

Youth Services Caregiver
  • Part-time Monday through Friday, 2:45PM - 7:00PM
  • Position is year-round; employee must live locally or within reasonable driving distance

Purpose of Position

The Youth Services Caregiver supports the Youth Services Coordinator in providing safe, engaging, and age-appropriate programs for children and youth (5 to 18) in Vincent Village programs. This includes assisting with activity facilitation, supervision, transportation for field trips, and maintaining a positive, supportive environment that promotes each child’s well‑being and development.

Vincent Village provides homeless families a long‑term continuum of care, training, and resources with empathy, dignity, and accountability. Vincent Village supports unsheltered families facing crisis due to domestic violence, eviction, rising rents, and health concerns. Our two‑phase program helps families transition from crisis to self‑sufficiency. After stabilizing resident client housing through either the Vincent House Shelter or the Village Community Rental Homes, Vincent Villages focuses on serving clients through four priority areas:

Details of Youth Services Caregiver Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and running daily, weekly, and special programs (academic, recreational, artistic, and social‑emotional)
  • Lead assigned activities, ensuring they are safe, engaging, and inclusive
  • Set‑up and clean program spaces, maintaining organization and safety
  • Supervise children during activities, free play, and transitions
  • Build positive relationships with youth, provide homework help, encouragement, and conflict mediation
  • Identify and report concerns or behavioral patterns to the Youth Services Coordinator
  • Assist with meeting individual needs of participants
  • Maintain attendance and assist with child file
  • Help track supplies and program materials
  • Communicate regularly with the Youth Services Coordinator
  • Support communication with parents/guardians and collaborate with other Vincent Village staff
  • Monitor program areas for safety, follow child protection policies, and assist in emergency drills
  • Supervise youth on trips and events, ensuring safety and positive experiences
  • Assist with permissions, scheduling, and transportation arrangements, including if qualified, driving youth when required following all safety protocols
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework in child‑related fields preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience with children/youth in structured settings
  • Will consider candidate with equivalent combination of education and related experience
Qualifications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • CPR/First Aid (or able to obtain within 60 days)
  • Must pass pre‑employment screenings such as a background check(s) and drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability through Vincent Village, Inc.’s insurance carrier is preferred
