Member Service Representative (Loan Officer)

Incumbent is responsible for providing courteous, efficient, and accurate member service and processing loans. Realize members’ needs by proactively determining appropriate products and services for our Credit Union members, while continuing to honor our mission statement.
Qualifications- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of previous member service and sales preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable three (3) year driving record.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of self and the Credit Union.
- Provide accurate, timely, and courteous service to our members in processing transactions efficiently. Assist members with all aspects of their account needs to build trust and rapport.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to proper security measures of the Credit Union.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate and scanned in a timely manner.
- Cross-sell loan protection products on loans and additional accounts, asking for referrals.
- Assist members with consumer loan needs, including auto, boat, motorcycle, and personal loans.
- Manage loan recapture and indirect loan list to ensure members are taking advantage of every opportunity available.
- Manage title work process, including ensuring titles are accurate, recording in a timely fashion and correcting any errors detected.
- Manage proof of insurance for loans processed, including ensuring that members provide proof of insurance or an insurance contact for all loans and ensuring that proof is provided from an insurance agent.
- Maintain a cash drawer efficiently, which includes processing member transactions quickly and accurately, handling cash transactions between members, balancing drawer at the end of every shift, and looking for cross-selling opportunities.
- Follow Check Acceptance procedures.
- Follow all branch opening and closing procedures.
Job Requirements
- Actively participate in seminars/training and workshops as required.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by Branch Manager.
- Incumbent will occasionally be expected to work some evenings and weekends for community events or special projects assigned by management.
Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment involving sitting, standing, keyboarding, close vision, speaking clearly, hearing sounds, and communication. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Incumbent may work with a desktop computer, printer, copier, calculator, coin counter, VISA cash advance machine, scanner, telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment as needed. Incumbent may occasionally travel to surrounding area branches for networking, business development, or required training as required.
Incumbent will occasionally be expected to work some evenings and weekends for community events or special projects.
