Drafting Technician

We’re looking for a Drafter to join our growing engineering department. In this role, you ll help design and prepare technical drawings for a wide variety of low voltage systems, including access control, audio visual (AV), fire alarm, nurse call, sound reinforcement, and video surveillance.

• Plan, configure, and commission low voltage systems including fire alarms, audiovisual systems, intercoms, clocks, nurse call, and security systems.
• Interpret technical documents, construction drawings, and schematics to guide installation and system design.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales engineers, and field technicians to ensure successful system implementation from start to finish.
• Program and test integrated systems to meet design specifications and applicable codes.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide on-site and remote technical support during installation and service.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, updates, and service activity.
• Uphold ECC’s values of integrity, teamwork, and a “get it done” mindset on every job.

• Draft accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD tools
• Support preliminary system designs for sales proposals
• Create detailed submittal drawings for engineering and installation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, install, purchasing, service)
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Continuously learn new technologies and drafting standards

• Associate’s degree in Drafting/CAD or 2+ years of experience as a drafter
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
