Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Director of the academic program, adjunct faculty receive a contract or letter stating adjunct employment with a primary responsibility in teaching. Faculty members assess, plan, implement and evaluate instruction for students in clinical and classroom settings or laboratories in coordination with established course and program objectives. Serving University of Saint Francis students and the Saint Francis community is paramount.

Responsibilities / Activities Teaching & Related Activities Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a faculty member is effective teaching. For details on classroom and clinical responsibilities – See Saint Francis Faculty Handbook. Faculty are expected to:

  • Teach courses consistent with the catalog description and content map
  • Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place and meet required contact hours
  • Integrate evidence-based practice in fulfilling all roles of faculty practice
  • Collaborate with colleagues for instructional improvement via professional peer review
  • Submit reports and requests for information promptly
  • Fulfill the Code of Ethics of the university and for the profession
  • Teach students using appropriate methodologies to facilitate student classroom and/or clinical learning experiences
  • Create an effective learning environment for students
  • Effectively communicate with students
  • Facilitate critical reflection and support innovation in students
  • Provide timely feedback and fairly evaluate students’ progress
  • Evaluate student clinical, laboratory and classroom performance and provide individual counsel and guidance as necessary to promote student success
  • Propose plans to improve students’ performance
  • Maintain appropriate records such as clinical evaluations, test scores, anecdotal notes and attendance on an ongoing basis to document evidence of student progress

Assignments may be adjusted for special assignments at the discretion of the Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications Education

Advanced Medical Imaging

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology, sonography, nuclear medicine, or radiation therapy, or magnetic resonance imaging
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical imaging discipline or related field required
  • Master’s, and Doctorate degree in a related field preferred

Department of Radiologic Technology

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Associate degree in discipline or related field required
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degree in a related field preferred

Division of Kinesiology and Nutrition

  • Masters or graduate degree in the field of study required
