Purpose: Supports and implements the program of the Classroom Teacher, Mild Disabilities Teacher or Special Education Teacher. Assists with assignments and prepares instructional materials according to the teacher’s direction. Other responsibilities as needed and determined by the advising teacher.
Qualifications: Completion of two years of study (60+ hours) at an institution of higher education or possession of an associate’s (or higher) degree is preferred. Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable. Candidates must have a sincere interest in working with students, effective communication skills, ability to take direction, initiative, dependability, patience, respect for student diversity, clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality.
