Role SummaryAs a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, you’ll provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings, including structured cabling systems, wireless, audio visual, and other low voltage systems. You will mentor other telecom team members, coordinate with project managers and clients, and ensure projects are completed on time.
Responsibilities- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
- Being the EoR for designs
- Providing coverage for project leads
- Depending on bandwidth, may also lead projects
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college
- Minimum 8 years of experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
- Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experienced in creating a budget for a project
- Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule
- Experienced in identifying and mitigating company risk
- PE license and ability to obtain multiple PE licenses is required
- 4 years of telecommunications design experience in data centers
- Experience working on other low voltage systems, including security, audio/visual, wireless
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems
- Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
- Credential as an RCDD
