We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Detailer to join our team. As a Detailer, you will be responsible for converting customer drawings into simplified drawings using AutoCAD 2D, and creating plans for product manufacturing and delivery. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of structural steel joist and deck building systems projects. You will spend half of your time using AutoCAD 2D to create detailed drawings and the other half coordinating internally and with customers to resolve any issues and ensure project delivery.

You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing a proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-in, which will be taught to you.

• Convert customer drawings into simplified AutoCAD 2D drawings.
• Create detailed plans for manufacturing and delivering products.
• Collaborate with team members and customers to solve problems and ensure project success.
• Manage 5-6 projects at various stages of completion.
• Utilize a proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-in for project execution.
• Ensure accuracy and quality in drawings and project plans.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting within construction or building design industries.
• Understanding of structural loads and connections.
• Ability to review decking design drawings and connections.
• Familiarity with the design approval process and collaboration with clients or fabrication plants.

• Direct experience with joists and decking design.
• Experience in leadership or training roles.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Flexible mindset with the ability to adapt to immediate tasks.
• Accountability for metrics, results, and drawing accuracy.

The position offers a casual work environment with an emphasis on meeting deadlines. You will have your own cubicle in a newly renovated office located in the Electric Works building in downtown Fort Wayne. The open concept office is full of natural light and close to various food and recreational options. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.25 - $23.25/hr.
