We are looking for a Senior Technical Metallurgist to join our Quality team. This role is responsible for interpreting customer and industry requirements, conducting detailed metallographic analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in metallurgy, be highly skilled in interpreting international standards, and provide leadership in quality assurance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the suitability of metallurgical lab equipment, procedures, and testing applications (including CAPEX projects).
  • Interpret customer and external material requirements (ASTM, AMS, ASME, etc.) and ensure compliance.
  • Lead and support technical projects, customer audits (including NADCAP), and non-conformance teams.
  • Evaluate metallurgical testing results, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Make disposition recommendations for nonconforming materials and support process corrective actions.
  • Write and present technical claim reports, and collaborate with customers on evaluations and resolutions.
  • Drive process improvements and changes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Provide expertise in lab data and certification systems.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM, AMS, and ASME specifications with proven interpretation skills.
  • Expertise in metallurgy, materials science, and metallographic analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects and audits.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or Chemical/Physical Sciences.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of directly related experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (due to ITAR and EAR regulations).
