Senior Structural Engineer (Data Centers) – Jacobs
The Senior Structural Engineer works within the Advanced Manufacturing team, focusing on data center projects including new builds, retrofits, and colocations. The role involves analyzing structures, creating computer models, performing member and foundation calculations, and coordinating design efforts across Jacobs offices domestically and internationally.
Base pay range$/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of structural analyses.
- Create computer models for structures.
- Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take‑offs for estimating, prepare miscellaneous calculations, and assist with schedules.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers on capital projects.
- Coordinate designs with internal professionals and with other Jacobs offices internationally.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as Auto Cad, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other relevant design codes and standards.
- Knowledge and application of Building Codes.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including MS Teams for remote coordination.
- Ability to travel to client sites (approx. 10%–20% travel).
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects.
- Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
