About the roleThe Corporate Assistant Controller supports the Corporate Controller in managing the overall accounting operations and financial reporting of the company. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in financial close processes, internal controls, audits, compliance, and system improvements, while also mentoring and leading accounting staff.

- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual audits with external auditors.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff; assist with workload management, training, and professional development.
- Lead or support implementation of new accounting systems or system enhancements with special consideration on Oracle Fusion and EPM environments.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Credit, Treasury, and other departments to support cross‑functional financial initiatives and requirements.
- Identify and support process improvement opportunities for true total business efficiencies.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues; ensure consistent application of accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
- Drive robust patronage dividend process.
- Support the Corporate Controller in special projects and strategic financial initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Public accounting experience and/or experience with a publicly traded company is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
