Overview
Open to qualified candidates for an Indiana National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position as a Military & Family Readiness Specialist. Applications accepted 11/20/2025 – 12/04/2025. Salary range $61,111 – $80,182 per year (GS‑9).
Duties
- Serve as an independent advisor in the geographic area of responsibility to accomplish the Soldier & Family Readiness Program objectives.
- Manage the family assistance center and provide support to commands within the area.
- Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons for the Unit Family Readiness Program and SFRGs.
- Submit information to support development and budget forecasting for the Soldier & Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Males born after 31 Dec 1959 must register for Selective Service.
- Background investigation required for federal employment suitability.
- Probationary period may be required.
- Drug test mandatory.
- Direct deposit participation required.
- Security clearance required.
- Possess effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
- Travel by car, military or commercial aircraft and other transportation may be required.
- Overshift hours may be required.
- Valid driver’s license required if motor vehicle use.
Qualifications
- General
Experience:
Knowledge of principles of organization, management, administration; experience compiling reports, memoranda; experience providing technical guidance and assistance. - Specialized
Experience:
At least 1 year specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level; thorough knowledge of administrative procedures.
