Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for examining cells and cellular anomalies to detect diseases such as cancer. You will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, working closely with pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
Duties- Perform microscopic examination of cellular samples, including Pap smears, fine needle aspirations, and body fluid specimens
- Identify abnormal cells and cellular changes that may indicate disease or infection
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and provide accurate interpretations of test results
- Collaborate with pathologists to determine appropriate follow-up actions for abnormal findings
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and quality control measures
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in cytology techniques and participate in continuing education activities
- Proficient in laboratory techniques related to cytology, including staining, slide preparation, and microscopy
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data entry and retrieval which may include Filemaker, EPIC, Soft
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently

Qualifications- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, CT(ASCP), is required
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least one or two years of experience is preferred but not required
