Parkview Health is seeking a dedicated Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (DCES) to join our team. This role is responsible for providing both inpatient and outpatient education and support to individuals with diabetes in alignment with Parkview Health’s Standards of Care and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) accreditation guidelines.

- Provide comprehensive diabetes education for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Collaborate with patients to develop individualized goals that promote self‑management and improve outcomes.
- Utilize evidence‑based practices and clinical judgment to assess, plan, and evaluate care.
- Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy based on patient diagnosis and standards of care.
- Provide support and training relating to Continuous Glucose Monitors.
- Act as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Promote behavior change to enhance health and quality of life across the lifespan.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or equivalent accepted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
- Completion of an AND‑approved internship.
- Master’s degree in Dietetics preferred (required for new RDNs starting January 1, 2024).
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Indiana state licensure (required within 90 days of hire).
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of 5 years preferred experience working as an RDN in a clinical setting.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
