INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President and General Manager, the IT Director is responsible for the maintenance, inventory, and security of all systems and equipment which relate to the technological functions of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. This position is Covered as defined by The Board of Commissioners of the County of Allen Employee Handbook.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum’s computer systems including, but not limited to long range planning, design, configuration, implementation, documentation, and training.
  • Supervises AV-IT Services Manager (Full-time employee) and entire Audio-Visual Department (consists of one other Full-time employee and 25 part-time employees)
  • Administers Microsoft Entra admin center, all Microsoft 365 admin centers including Exchange and SharePoint.
  • Maintains department local area network (LAN and WLAN) for 55+ users.
  • Manages multiple "use specific" VLANs and WLANS for use throughout the facility by clients for their events.
  • Establishes and maintains security, work groups and work group managers and users.
  • Monitor’s system performance to prevent unscheduled down time and data loss.
  • Manages all Internet and system use and ensures adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains highest level of internal and external security on wired and wireless network systems.
  • Installs, configures and maintains commercial software programs and communicates with vendor technical support personnel to resolve problems.
  • Analyzes changes and enhancements issued by vendors to determine impact on existing systems and procedures.
  • Oversees network back‑ups and monitors file server directories, periodically removing outdated or obsolete files.
  • Manages backup data to ensure ability to restore lost or corrupted files.
  • Maintains computer library of reference materials and software.
  • Maintains current knowledge of developments in computer technology, software and hardware by periodically attending training seminars.
  • Responsible for successfully communicating with users of varying levels of computer expertise.
  • Maintains wireless and wired Internet access throughout the facility.
  • Assesses and recommends changes or upgrades to the system in order to ensure the utmost guest and client satisfaction.
  • Configures, adds, and manages all Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
  • Responsible for telephone systems, Payne Sparkman lighting system, digital recorders, cameras, security systems and other related systems and technology.
  • Consults with system vendors to aid in resolution of issues and recommendation of future system improvements and upgrades.
  • Assists staff members on signage, video and television system programming and operating systems.
  • Assists Marketing Department with support for Ungerboeck Scheduling Software, in‑house TV broadcast systems, and web page updates and development.
  • Assists Audio Visual Department in television controls, video, and sound production for events, including the technology in the Conference Center.
  • Manages and troubleshoots the Ticket Office network and hand scanning ticket entry system.
  • Configures, sets up and manages the network and configuration for the Point of Sale (POS), menu boards and premium seating handheld POS system and adds additional points of sale when new sales locations are established based on event needs.
  • Manages and maintains Windows servers, laptops, and desktop computers.
  • Manages and maintains network and local printers and supplies.
  • Responsible for researching and making recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and changes to computer, telephone, sound, video, signage systems, television systems, networks, hardware and software.
  • Generates various reports, including analyzing and identifying needs, conducting follow‑up discussions and making revisions after implementation.
