The India and Emerging marketplace team builds products and services that solve unique customer needs for Amazon’s fast growing marketplaces. Our team is looking for highly motivated individuals to help deliver the next great innovations to reduce the core shopping experience latency for India and Emerging marketplace Customers. This position is based in our Bangalore office.

About the team

We are known as the International Emerging Stores (IES) Latency team. Our mission is to disproportionately reduce latency for all emerging shoppers – EM5 (IN, AE, SA,  , MX), EG, AU, SG, TR, bridge the gap with local Image Competitors (ICs) and bridge the gap with Best at Amazon (BAA). While our charter work backwards from the needs of emerging customers, we continue to leverage WW platforms and look to improve overall product with foundational capabilities and improvements that are not only relevant in emerging stores, but also for Amazon WW.

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
