Position: IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) with Security Clearance
Duties
* Provides customer technical assistance and support for all users of the operational and/or tactical environment.
* Assist customer with fulfilling requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services.
* Installs, maintains, and repairs hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems on the operation network and/or tactical network.
* Manages the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level and/or tactical environment for the unit.
* Serves as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of unit.
* Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software
* Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

* This position conducts information assurance functions.
* The incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certification program and will be required to obtain and maintain certification. Certification requirements are outlined in DoD Instruction 8570.01-M
* The employee will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
* This position requires military membership, compatible unit and Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) assignments, and the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance level which is based on the position security access requirement.
* IAW DoD 8570.01-M you will have 6 months from date of hire to acquire the appropriate IAT, IAM or IASAE level certification designated by the position and/or supervisor.? Failure to do so may result in termination. Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E3 through E5 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 1D7X1 BASIC REQUIREMENT :
Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
