Position: Geospatial (GIS) Analyst

Overview

Helios Defense Solutions LLC is seeking a highly experienced Geospatial (GIS) Data Analysts to join our team in providing spatial analytic support and GIS data analysis to USSTRATCOM/J2 at Offutt AFB, NE. Personnel will provide cartographic and spatial analytic support and employ GIS expertise to identify, analyze, and depict intelligence issues spatially. The best candidates will have experience with the installation, configuration, operation, and limitations of the ArcGIS Enterprise and using ArcGIS Enterprise software to provide support to develop databases, create custom maps, charts, and graphics.

These positions are FULL TIME, On-Site positions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and advise the Government with supporting staff tasks assigned for action or coordination.
  • Provide studies, assessments, briefings, reports, staff packages, geospatial products, technical information and other documents
  • Develop products in accordance with established processes and governing directives, research the availability and adequacy of existing products, identify shortfalls which may impact the Command's readiness and responsiveness for mission execution, and provide assessments used in the development of production plans.
  • Provide support to manage GIS databases and product-specific files and data services, provide support to develop and execute production plans based on availability or adequacy shortfalls, gauge production progress against outstanding requirements, and provide status updates.
  • Interact with appropriate entities and utilize existing software to develop digital databases, create maps, charts, and graphics, and shall utilize products and data feeds from Combat Support Agencies and DoD entities.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Requirements Manager or Geospatial Information & Services (GI&S) Officer to provide input for spatial foundation and analysis requirements.
  • Provide support to the following areas and functions:
    ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal Web GIS Capabilities;
    ArcGIS Pro Desktop & Advanced Spatial Analysis;
    Geo Event Server Management & Real-Time GIS; GIS Data Management & Automation;
    System Integration & Secure Dynamic Data Connection Development;
    Geospatial Information and Services (GI&S) Requirements Management;
    Familiarization, Documentation, & Task Assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Top-Secret Security Clearance
  • Three (3) years’ relevant experience with, or education in, geospatial sciences performing spatial analysis.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geospatial Sciences or Geography or Remote Sensing or Geospatial Intelligence, or other Bachelor's degree or higher with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems (or Science).
  • At least three (3) years’ proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise software, knowledge of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards, and familiarity with current USSTRATCOM GIS systems and processes to include Machine Learning and Automation concepts.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with relational database management and three (3) years’ programming in Python scripting language.
  • Three (3) years’ demonstrated experience in GIS, focusing on data editing, spatial analysis, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Three (3) years’ demonstrated relevant experience and basic understanding of Arc Py scripting and GIS data management practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Pro, Geo Event Server, Arc Py, and Python scripting.
  • Experience with DoD IT security standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, FedRAMP).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in spatial databases (e.g., Postgre

    SQL/PostGIS, SQL Server).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience with Dynamic Data Connections (REST API and others) development and system integration.
  • Ability to travel to technical exchanges and industry conferences.
