Job Summary
City of Fort Wayne is hiring a Theatre Front Gate/Parking Lot Lead for the Foellinger Theater. The role reports to the Theatre Assistant Manager Operations and directs the successful operation of parking lots, monitors parking lot behavior with the security lead, and provides civilian leadership in monitoring the theatre grounds outside the fence. The incumbent must exercise good judgment, independence, and professionalism in conducting day‑to‑day operations in accordance with city safety rules, operating regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the operation of Foellinger Theatre parking facilities.
- In conjunction with the security lead, monitor parking and behavior on the parking lots, and handle confrontational parking‑lot users in a professional and civil manner.
- Provide civilian leadership with city police and private security to monitor all theatre grounds outside the fence.
- Review parking‑lot operations and oversee the efficient utilization of staff and equipment.
- Inspect parking lots and report problems related to their physical conditions.
- Recommend improvements to operations, procedures, or scheduling.
- Provide information to and respond to inquiries from the public.
- Coordinate parking‑lot operations with uniformed city police.
- Instruct, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate personnel.
- Prepare periodic reports regarding parking‑lot operations.
- Promptly document incidents per department policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Has direct supervisory role for contract staff and volunteers as assigned.

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Proven track record of outstanding customer service and leadership skills.
- 1–2 years of experience in public safety, security, or comparable education.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle volatile situations with patience and tact.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to train workers.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple situations in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of routine practices, rules, regulations, and procedures relevant to assigned tasks.
Effective communication with other agencies and the public, interpreting guidelines and adapting to standards set by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department.
Mathematical SkillsBasic arithmetic ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
