We are currently seeking a full-time, onsite
Major Gifts Officer in the Office of Development. This position will manage and develop a portfolio with a record of, or the potential for, major gifts to support their assigned program areas within PFW. The annual wage for this position will be $60,000.00 - $65,000.00, subject to experience.
- Promote and maintain a personal commitment to the mission of PFW.
- Strategically manage all donor work and activities within assigned program areas.
- Maintain donor commitment through regular cultivation and stewardship to ensure donors remain confident in the college. Keep them informed of the outcomes of their gifts, as well as all relevant activities and programs of the college and PFW.
- Travel of approximately 20% expected in state and periodically nationally to visit prospects.
- Donor work will include 10-15 substantive personal visits each month.
- Coordinate and attend donor and prospect focused events with connections to assigned colleges/schools.
- Engage University administration, Deans, faculty and staff as prospect development resources.
- Maintain appropriate and effective reporting of activity and monitoring of resources and expenditures associated with portfolio and assigned responsibilities.
- Enrich professional skills, including the understanding of building a major gift portfolio, tax laws related to charitable giving, by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, and through professional reading, when applicable in the budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to comply with Purdue University’s Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Donor Database applications.
- CFRM or CFRE.
- Experience in fundraising, nonprofit work and/or in sales.
- Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.

- A background and misconduct check will be required for employment in this position.
- A Motor Vehicle Records Check is required for this position.
