• Shift: 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM (4x9-hour shifts/week)
• Hours per Week: 40
• No weekends or on-call required
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Unit Size: 27 beds (16 pre-op / 11 PACU)
• Monthly Department Volume: ~500 patients
• EMR System:
  Cerner (preferred)

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU nursing experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Experience in fast-paced PACU environments, especially with orthopedic, spine, and trauma cases
• Ability to provide RN license, certifications, driver’s license, and permanent home address upon submission
• Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, and trauma surgeries
• Monitor patient status and vital signs, ensuring safe and effective anesthesia recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Accurately document all care provided using the Cerner EMR system
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment
