Position: Camp Assistant Supervisor - Salomon Farm (Seasonal)

Camp Assistant Supervisor – Salomon Farm

What You'll Do

Assist the Camp Supervisor in day-to-day operations, supervise counselors and campers, coordinate activities, and ensure a safe, fun, and educational environment. Help develop programs, manage logistics, and gain hands‑on leadership experience that will strengthen your resume.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and train 20–30 camp counselors; step in as Supervisor when needed
  • Assist with camper supervision, discipline, and daily activities including farm chores, outdoor exploration, and games
  • Help plan and coordinate camp schedules, programs, and special events
  • Maintain facilities, supplies, records, and communicate with parents and staff
  • Operate camp equipment like tractors and bubble machines; ensure safety and smooth operations
What You Bring – Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in education, environmental education, recreation, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years experience in recreation, education, or outdoor programs preferred (or equivalent combination)
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Comfortable hiking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors
Preferred Certifications
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED (American Heart Association) within 2 weeks of hire
  • Valid Indiana driver's license
Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge of livestock care, gardening, and outdoor program facilitation
  • Ability to communicate effectively while teaching outdoor skills
  • Strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilities; can handle unexpected situations
