Gardener – Full Time

Do you have a green thumb and a passion for beautiful outdoor spaces? Whether you've worked as a Landscape Technician, Groundskeeper, Horticulturist, or Garden Specialist, we're looking for someone hardworking, detail-oriented, and ready to bring city parks and gardens to life.
What You'll DoPlan, plant, and maintain city gardens, parks, and the Botanical Conservatory. Keep landscapes healthy and vibrant while supporting volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Design and maintain ornamental landscape and floral displays.
- Plant, water, prune, fertilize, and care for trees, shrubs, lawns, and flowers.
- Operate hand tools, power equipment, and vehicles; maintain equipment and work areas.
- Assist with directing employees, volunteers, and community service personnel.
- Maintain irrigation, water features, and high-quality turf areas.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years' experience in ornamental horticulture, landscaping, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Indiana Operator's License.
- For-Hire Endorsement within 90 days of hire.
- State of Indiana Pesticide Registered Technician certification (Core Exam within 1 year).
- State of Indiana Pesticide Applicators License – Category 3A Ornamental Pest Management within 2 years.
- Ability to design and maintain floral displays.
- Knowledge of gardening, landscaping tools, methods, and materials.
- Ability to read instructions, safety rules, and herbicide labels; write reports; communicate with public and staff.
