Pay rate for Fertilizer Technicians: $18.00 - $25.00 hourly, depending on experience.

Typical schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to about 5:00 PM. Days and hours vary based on projects and seasonality. We do not do winter lay‑offs; schedules and hours change with weather and customer needs.

What Your Day Will Look Like
  • During the regular season, our hours are typically 7 AM to 5 PM.
  • You will drive a company truck during work time and must have a valid driver’s license.
  • You will work outside in varying weather conditions.
  • At the end of the workday, you’ll load equipment and materials for the next day.
  • You will measure, mix, and apply fertilizers to residential and commercial lawns.
  • You will treat weeds and perform applications per the program schedule.
  • You will operate machinery for multiple types of applications.
  • You will perform lawn‑analysis collection for third‑party testing.
  • You will identify and diagnose lawn problems and make recommendations for correction.
  • You will fill out accurate time tracking for each location via iPad using our software.
  • Each evening, you’ll perform basic cleaning & maintenance on your tools and stock up supplies for the next morning.
  • When a customer is onsite, you will check in to ensure satisfaction and answer questions.
  • You’ll maintain customer satisfaction through professional workmanship & communication.
Experience

We’re flexible on the number of years of experience. We value talent and interest. Even if you did not finish high school, please apply; there’s a good chance you’re more capable than you realize.

  • Experience in the Fertilization/Weed Control Industry
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • Positive attitude and desire to work outdoors
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Certified by the Indiana State Chemist as a Registered Fertilizer Technician with Core Test
  • Holder of a 3B category certification for Turf Management
  • Experience managing or supervising others on the job
