Full‑time Description

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including managing employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing sales. The role helps develop and implement strategies to improve the store’s performance and profitability while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment. This is a development role for those who aspire to become a Retail Store Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and retaining store employees.
  • Assist in managing and developing store employees for optimal performance in sales and store operations.
  • Assist in developing team selling skills.
  • Assist in educating the team about the products sold in the store.
  • Ensure the store operates smoothly and efficiently, including inventory management, expense monitoring, promotional strategies, and employee scheduling.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries, complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Obtain product knowledge about all products, current launches, and promotions.
  • Create relationships with customers to suggest products.
  • Meet or exceed store sales and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and other employees to meet operational and financial targets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment, implementing and enforcing all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Store Manager on employees, operations, and sales issues, including process improvements, trainings, marketing strategies, and product offerings.
  • Manage daily store operations: inventory, cash handling, staffing, customer service, and cleanliness.
  • Spend majority of business hours standing on the sales floor, greeting customers, coaching employees, and running the core business.
  • Open and close the store.
  • Work full‑time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements – Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of store operations.
  • Basic math skills (adding and subtracting).
Qualifications
  • At least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexible to work weekends and holidays.
  • Flexible to work 12‑hour shifts when required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
