Overview

Sales Engineer / Technical Sales / Industrial Automation / Manufacturing position based in Fort Wayne, IN and surrounding counties. Allied Automation, Inc. is a full-service technology distributor that partners with brands like Mitsubishi and Universal Robots to provide solution-based industrial automation offerings. Since 1981, Allied has focused on training and developing engineers to meet customer needs with robust automation solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate and develop contact with key and target customers to establish strong relationships.
  • Develop knowledge in the primary product areas, including Robotics, PLC, HMI, Servos/Motion Control, Safety Devices, Sensors, and Networking.
  • Consult on applications with customers in the primary product areas.
  • Document sales opportunities and coordinate required sales activities between other regions and management using PC-based software.
  • Travel – occasional domestic travel may be required for training.
  • Develop and support sales strategies and objectives to expand market share in the region.
  • Monitor progress toward goals and adjust as needed to reach objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical, industrial technology, or experience in technical sales, with 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls and machine applications in the Fort Wayne area.
  • Awareness of the Industrial Automation Market, including end-user specifications.
  • Able to develop a customer base and generate sales to meet goals.
  • Strong negotiating, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct technical and sales presentations to key clients.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of follow-through.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience plus sales commissions/bonus. Earning potential up to $200K. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, vacation, holidays, 401(k), car allowance of $500, plus mileage.
