Job Summary

The Security Officer ensures the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and property by patrolling facilities, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents. This role provides exceptional customer service while enforcing safety policies and maintaining a secure environment.

Essential Functions

Patrol all areas of the facility, clinics, and surrounding grounds to deter and detect unauthorized or suspicious activity.

Assist visitors by providing directions, answering questions, and escorting as needed.

Monitor surveillance cameras and conduct regular inspections to identify security risks.

Investigate and document reports of suspicious activity, safety concerns, and violations.

Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, taking appropriate actions.

Secure property by locking doors, windows, and gates after hours and verifying access points.

Manage traffic, enforce parking regulations, and assist with crowd control during events or emergencies.

Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and facility leadership during security situations.

Complete accurate incident reports and maintain security documentation.

Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act appropriately in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of security practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Proficiency in writing incident reports.
• Physical ability to patrol large facilities and respond to emergencies.

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support (AHA, ARC, or ASHI) required.
• IAHSS Security Officer Certification preferred or Facility Security Officer Certification.
