Carpenter – Commercial Interiors (Tenant Finish & New Construction)

Pay Range: $20–$30 per hour (based on experience)

Jack Laurie Group is hiring Carpenters of all experience levels to support commercial interiors projects in the Fort Wayne area. This position includes work in tenant finish environments as well as new commercial construction. We are looking for dependable individuals with experience in steel stud framing, acoustical ceilings, drywall installation, and general commercial carpentry.

• Assist with or perform metal stud framing
• Install acoustical ceiling systems (ACT/grid, tile, and specialty ceilings)
• Support tenant finish carpentry including framing, layout, trim, punch list work, and interior modifications
• Perform carpentry tasks on new commercial construction projects
• Install drywall, blocking, backing, and general interior components
• Read and follow site instructions, work orders, and blueprints
• Maintain clean and safe jobsite conditions
• Work collaboratively with foremen, site supervisors, and project managers
• Follow all company and site safety requirements

• Experience in steel stud framing, acoustical ceilings, or commercial carpentry preferred
• Experience with tenant finish work and/or new commercial construction is beneficial
• Open to all levels of experience (entry-level to skilled carpenter)
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting construction materials, climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing for long periods
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
