Collins Aerospace invites a Principal Software Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and verification of embedded encryption algorithms for U.S. military communications products.

Active, transferable DoD Secret clearance required prior to start. U.S. citizenship required.

Lead architecture and evolution of multi‑threaded embedded C++ product, drive advanced cryptographic solutions, mentor engineers, and manage certification processes.

• Champion software development and integration, leading architecture of multi‑threaded embedded C++ codebase.
• Architect and develop embedded cryptographic solutions and communications products.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to define requirements, oversee implementation, drive test and certification.
• Mentor and inspire software developers, promoting best practices.
• Elevate security and reliability of critical communications systems.

• STEM degree; 8+ years in embedded software development or 5+ years with advanced degree.
• Active U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Experience in embedded C/C++ product development and multi‑threaded codebases.
• Full lifecycle development practices and configuration management.
• Prefer embedded security experience, Linux development, mutexes, semaphores, cryptographic algorithms, Agile, mentoring, project management, and Python scripting.
