An opportunity has arisen for a Patient Booking Service Officer, 23 hours per week, Monday to Friday based at Belford Hospital, Fort William.
In this role you will be part of a small, supportive team responsible for providing an efficient and effective appointment booking service. You will support patients, clinical teams and service delivery through the timely booking, rescheduling and coordination of outpatient appointments, helping to ensure effective use of clinic capacity and a positive patient experience.
The postholder will deal with patient enquiries by telephone and face to face, maintain accurate patient records, update appointment and waiting list information, generate patient correspondence and liaise with consultants, secretaries, nursing staff and wider administrative colleagues throughout NHS Highland. Accuracy, confidentiality and good communication skills are essential as the role supports safe and effective patient pathways.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills, a good standard of general education including English and maths, experience of administrative work, and the ability to prioritise tasks and work accurately in a busy environment.
You will be required to use a range of digital systems including Trak Care PMS, Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams.
Previous NHS administrative experience and knowledge of appointment booking, waiting list management or patient administration processes would be advantageous, but are not essential as full training and local support will be provided.
