Dental Officer

NHS Highland Public Dental Service currently has an exciting opportunity for a full time Dental Officer to provide services from the two clinics in the beautiful Lochaber area, Fort William and Mallaig.

The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry via General Dental Practitioners and the post holder will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Services to these groups, including anxious patients. Experience in delivering inhalation sedation is desirable.

Clinical experience of providing treatment to priority group patients and routine general dental services is desirable. GDC registration as a dentist and successful listing with the Health Board are essential.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to manage difficult situations and challenging patient behaviours in a positive manner.

The post is eligible for remote and rural allowance. A driving licence is desirable.
