Based at our Fort William sawmill, As a Main Saw Line Operator, you’ll enjoy a variety of duties whilst operating state of art saw milling machinery and working towards set production targets.
You will oversee multiple machine centres ensuring efficient operation of the infeed and Green Mill. whatever duty you’re assigned
we’ll expect you to contribute to the creation of quality timber products – on time and to specification – whilst following appropriate health & safety practices.
Specifically, some responsibilities of a Main Line saw Operator:- Operating state of the art saw milling equipment.
- Working towards and maintaining set production targets.
- Upholding the appropriate Health & Safety practices across the site.
- Manual Handling of timber
- Ideally, we’re seeking a motivated individual who is quality focused and understands the value of the goods they are producing. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure operations are maximised, maintained, and quality targets are met with minimum wastage.
- You will be self-motivated, have a can-do attitude and be willing to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
- In addition, you’ll have;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- An appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
- Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
- Experience with in a manufacturing, or similar production environment, would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
