An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Highland Vaccination Service for a Vaccinator to join the Lochaber team.
This is a varied and rewarding role within a service that continues to evolve as part of the Vaccination Transformation Programme. The post holder will play a key role in delivering vaccination programmes across a range of community settings, including vaccination clinics, health centres, schools, care homes and domiciliary visits.
The Vaccination Service covers a large and diverse geographical area, and the ability to work flexibly across different locations throughout Lochaber is essential.
As a Vaccinator, You Will- Prepare and administer vaccines safely and effectively in line with Patient Group Directions (PGDs), national guidance and local policies.
- Provide clear information, reassurance and support to patients, families and carers.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to adverse reactions and clinical incidents.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Support the safe and efficient delivery of vaccination clinics across a variety of settings.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure high-quality service provision.
- A registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional with current NMC or HCPC registration.
- Competent and confident in working both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
- Committed to delivering high standards of clinical care, infection prevention and patient safety.
- Flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- In possession of a full UK driving licence and able to travel throughout Lochaber as required.
