Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for data entry, scanning of invoices, and research of vendor accounts.

Reports to :

Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to :
  • Research invoices and payments as requested by vendors and hospital staff
  • Review outstanding invoices past 30 days. Notify departments of collection efforts needed
  • Scan invoices and enter them into Workday, verifying dollar amounts, expense codes, and proper approvals
  • Escalate invoices needing additional approvals or corrections to appropriate persons with explanations
  • All other related duties assigned under Accounts Payables and / or accounting responsibilities
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations

N / A

Skills and Abilities
  • Able to articulate applied principles and procedures of accounting and / or bookkeeping
  • Numerical ability to perform rapid and accurate arithmetic computations with or without adding machine / calculator
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and / or Access
  • Ability to operate computer and calculator by touch
  • Ability to compute figures and prepare financial statements following standard methods and procedures
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

The person in this role will have interactions with other accountants, department directors, and senior level management within the hospital

Physical Capabilities

Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Should be able to lift 10 lbs. Work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time. Hearing acuity is required to be able to accurately transact business dealings

Environmental / Working Conditions

This position is subject to inside environmental conditions, including variations in temperature
