Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a well-established and rapidly growing organization in the commercial and industrial mechanical construction and services industry. Due to continued organic growth and acquisitions, this organization is in need of a newly created Senior Accountant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in financial operations, partner closely with leadership, and contribute to process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assisting with month-end close - journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and accruals

+ Review and analyze project financial data from job setup through completion.

+ Ensure new jobs are accurately configured within the ERP system.

+ Provide project managers with actionable financial insights to maintain profitability and budget compliance.

+ Monitor budget variances and recommend cost-saving strategies.

+ Develop and maintain labor utilization reporting.

+ Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen labor efficiency and reduce costs.

+ Perform general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

+ Prepare fixed asset schedules, depreciation tracking, and related reconciliations.

+ Analyze costs, revenues, trends, and commitments to support management decision-making.

+ Assist in forecasting future financial results and business performance.

+ Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

+ Maintain documentation of accounting procedures and implement internal controls to mitigate risk.

+ Provide accurate documentation and support to external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit cycle.

+ Evaluate and enhance accounting processes to boost accuracy, efficiency, and workflow.

+ Assist with timely, accurate invoice preparation.

+ Support the AR and billing functions as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Strong proficiency with MS Excel (intermediate level or above).

+ Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.

+ Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

+ Highly organized with strong time-management skills.
