The role of the Accounting Clerk involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.


* This is an Entry-Level position. Hourly rate is $14-16/hr.

Job Duties:

  • 3 Way match for vendor invoice
  • Verify GL Coding of invoices
  • Utilizes AP portal to resolve any issues with vendor invoices
  • Post vendor and customer invoices into accounting system
  • Interacts with other department’s personnel as necessary in the performance of payment, billing and invoicing activities.
  • Processes and enters customer payment receipts into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, staff and management
  • Work with vendors, customers and personnel to resolve any variances between PO’s and Invoices.
  • Apply strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and high attention to detail in solving problem
  • Communicate effective with various vendors and customers
  • Monthly Expense Accruals
  • Assists in the preparations for
    1099’s at the end of the year
  • Candidate will work as a key part of the accounting/finance team and will provide backup and support as needed to the team as directed by the Director of Accounting
  • Provide backup reception coverage to relieve receptionist for breaks, lunch, vacations and other time away from reception desk

Experience:

  • Entry level position, training will be provided
  • Previous accounts payable experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures is preferred, but not required
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • M-F (8:00am – 5:00pm), with one Saturday every 4-5 weeks (Sat hours 8:00am – 12:00pm)
