Job Overview

Provide legal guidance to the Company, its business colleagues and leadership on matters including consumer and commercial financing, privacy and data security, corporate governance and licensing, litigation, contract management, insurance, marketing, product development, and project implementation compliance.

• Legal Analysis and Advice
  :
  Advise business clients on legal and regulatory topics related to direct and indirect consumer and commercial financing, privacy, data security, commercial transactions, corporate governance and licensing, litigation, collections, contract management, insurance, marketing, and product development. Manage outside counsel and other advisors as needed (see percentages in original text).
• Legal Documents
  :
  Draft, review and modify contracts and regulatory/compliance documents and forms, conduct legal research and implement new forms and procedures (percentage 15% referenced).
• Consumer Complaints
  :
  Assist the business line with responses to customer complaints and threatened litigation; support collections and outside counsel management as needed (15%).
• Regulatory Authorities
  :
  Assist with issues from federal/state examinations and regulatory inquiries (5%).
• Risk Assessment
  :
  Conduct risk assessment, troubleshoot from complaints/audit/litigation, perform root cause analysis and provide tailored risk mitigation recommendations (20%).
• Collaboration
  :
  Advise and collaborate with executive management on legal risks and mitigation (20%).

Education
:
Undergraduate Degree;
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

Experience
: 4–6 years in private practice or with a financial services provider; consumer finance and regulatory work with emphasis on motor vehicle financing and leasing preferred.
