Description
Tarrant County Kids is an esteemed childcare program that exists to support working families who need a safe and nurturing place after school. Affiliated with Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, it is on a mission to provide a nurturing after‑school environment where children aged 4‑12 can flourish. Our licensed care services are offered in collaboration with elementary schools in Arlington and Fort Worth.
PositionSummary
The Site Instructor is responsible for program implementation as assigned by the Site Supervisor. This role is part‑time and works Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm–6:00 pm for 13–18 hours per week.
Essential Responsibilities- Coordinate with the Site Supervisor to plan and facilitate fun activities with students in our programs.
- Ensure the safety and security of the students during activities, including off‑campus field trips.
- Keep supervisor and TCK Manager informed of problems, concerns, needs, and unusual activities in a timely manner.
- Assist with program planning with other staff members.
- Maintain a respectful attitude towards organizational leadership, coworkers, students, parents, and school employees.
- Maintain an attendance at work of 95% or higher and be on time regularly.
- Maintain a positive work ethic.
- Assume daily responsibility without constant supervision.
- Share upkeep of program facilities.
- Assist the Site Supervisor in maintaining students’ attendance records.
- Participate in periodic assessment of own performance.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested.
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to communicate with youth and foster their participation in program planning, problem solving, and decision making.
- Ability to provide professional references and clear extensive background checks.
- Maintain certification in first aid and CPR and current tuberculosis screening.
- Possess reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Ability to fill in with coverage at other sites as needed.
- Successful work experience of at least one year in childcare or another child‑based field.
- Formal education in a special skill area of social work, education, recreation, psychology, or sociology.
$14‑$16 per hour.
