We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established commercial general contractor in the DFW area. This is a key role within the preconstruction team, focused on developing detailed cost estimates and proposals for a variety of commercial projects across North Texas. You’ll work closely with leadership, operations, and business development to ensure that all estimates are thorough, competitive, and aligned with client expectations.
This is a hands-on estimating role ideal for someone who enjoys diving into the details while also providing strategic input to help secure new work.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Manage the full bid process, including preparing quantity takeoffs, pricing, and soliciting subcontractor/vendor proposals.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project scope.
- Prepare comprehensive and professional proposals, including bid qualifications and clarifications.
- Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in internal handoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations.
- Assist with initial buyout planning and help draft subcontractor scope documents in coordination with the project team.
- Extensive experience estimating commercial construction projects with a GC.
- Strong knowledge of local market pricing, subcontractor base, and construction means & methods.
- Proficient in estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr
