Job Responsibilities- Perform architectural assignments focused on construction document production and coordination with regulatory authorities to gain necessary approval for construction.
- Work may include construction administration tasks leading to project completion, under the supervision of the Design Team Lead, for training and development purposes.
- Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct.
- Operate independently to deliver completed construction documents for most client and project types, providing a high level of service for all phases of design.
- Communicate effectively to be seen as a highly knowledgeable expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.
- Lead the Design Team in research, development, and drafting of construction documents to support client building programs.
- Investigate, evaluate, and recommend architectural design solutions and independently make decisions on complex architectural design problems and methods.
- Oversee all aspects of construction administration leading to project completion.
- Understand implications of policies and procedures to ensure supervision of design work by the architect in responsible control.
- Mentor, direct, and supervise team members.
- Efficiently produce accurate construction documents with minimal supervision by reviewing own work.
- Develop specifications writing and compiling skills.
- Conduct building code analysis and research regulatory requirements to determine design constraints.
- Communicate and present design options and alternates to clients.
- Work with municipalities to secure entitlements and building permits.
- Respond to Contractor Requests for Information.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent.
- Complete field reports to document observations during construction.
- Review results from field reports, third‑party inspectors, and other test results for conformance with contract documents.
- Expanded management responsibilities for staff and projects:
- Monitor performance of design team consultants.
- Perform quality control review of junior staff work product.
- Establish project milestones with Design Team Leads.
- Direct Designer job duties.
- Perform quality control review of team members’ work product.
- Conduct periodic progress meetings with the Design Team.
- Work with Design Team Leads to establish fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals for assigned projects.

Qualifications- 4+ staff management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or 8–12 years of industry experience, or capable of covering the responsibilities and duties above.
- Architectural registration with current licensure, NCARB registration.
- Preferred: LEED Green Associate accreditation.
