Position DetailsThis full‑time faculty position is on‑campus and in‑person. The TCU Department of Design in the College of Fine Arts invites applications for an Instructor of Interior Design. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty committed to shaping future design leaders through rigorous studio instruction, emerging technologies, and human‑centered design.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses, including studio and seminar‑format, based on applicant’s experience and expertise.
- Teach using design‑oriented software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Advise/mentor undergraduate majors.
- Provide service to the Department, College, and University, normally through committee work.
- Continue professional development.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related professional field.
- Graduate degree in Interior Design, Lighting Design, Architecture, or a closely related professional field, or five years of related professional practice.
- Evidence of proficiency in industry‑standard software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- College‑level teaching experience.
- Proficiency in using and teaching a range of industry‑standard software beyond AutoCAD and Revit, including Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, AGi
32, Elum Tools, Rhino, Enscape, and similar software. - Professional or teaching experience in Lighting Design.
- Professional licensure/registration (Interior Design or Architecture).
- Proficiency in using and teaching digital fabrication techniques and processes.
- Signed cover letter.
- Resume (CV).
- One‑page statement of teaching philosophy.
- Contact information for at least three professional references.
- .pdf visual portfolio file of annotated professional design work, clear citations of applicant’s role.
- .pdf visual portfolio file of annotated student work from courses taught.
