Essential Job Functions- Instructional Planning & Delivery
- Teaches knowledge and skill concepts in accordance with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, district curricula, and industry standards.
- Designs clear, well‑organized, sequential lessons that build on students’ prior knowledge; provides enrichment, differentiation, and project‑based learning for collaboration and creative thinking.
- Creates developmentally appropriate, standards‑driven lessons reflecting evidence‑based practices.
- Adapts methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Communicates clearly and encourages student persistence and best effort.
- Promotes complex, higher‑order thinking through class discussions and activities.
- Assesses and documents student mastery using frequent, appropriate, ongoing assessment tools; employs interventions and formal/informal procedures.
- Instructs students in the proper use of professional equipment, technology, and materials.
- Prepares students for industry certification exams and administers those exams, providing remediation as needed.

- Ensures students understand future coursework and certification requirements.
- Monitors classroom and online instruction, activities, grades, and projects.
- Reflects on teaching practice and engages in continuous professional learning.
- Collaborates with colleagues and seeks constructive feedback.
- Leads students, educators, and community members beyond the classroom.

- Stays current on state and industry standards and updates stakeholders.
- Shared Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate record‑keeping (attendance, grades, student files, assessment prep, travel paperwork, work‑based learning documentation).
- Engages parents and families through conferences and ongoing communication.
- Participates in faculty and committee meetings, and school events as required.
- Works with counselors to verify student plans and portfolios for timely graduation.
