Job Description

Job Summary

The Admissions Counselor builds enrollment by recruiting, managing, and enrolling the prospective students within a given recruitment territory or degree program. This role actively recruits students to Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College by guiding applicants through the admissions process, providing them with essential information about academic programs, financial aid, and campus life within a religious context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a representative of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College and its Admissions Office.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and external stakeholders, providing clear and timely information regarding admission requirements and procedures.
  • Cultivates relationships with prospective students and provides personalized counseling regarding academic offerings, financial aid options, student life, and religious values that underpin Southwestern’s philosophy.
  • Manages over 500+ applicants over the course of the recruitment cycle and leads applicants through all phases of the enrollment process leading to full‑time residential enrollment at the Fort Worth campus.
  • Collaborates with the admissions team to make informed decisions in assessing and evaluating applications.
  • Develops strategic recruitment initiatives aimed at accomplishing recruitment objectives including, but not limited to attending events, meetings with students, and collecting prospective student contact information.
  • Annually hosts 300+ prospective students and families for campus visits and conducts informational sessions, campus tours, and outreach events to promote the institution’s programs and values.
  • Assists in Admissions recruitment campaigns by completing at least 1,000+ phone calls and delivering, managing, or responding to more than 2,500+ texts in a recruitment cycle.
  • Networks with global ministry leaders, local churches, high schools, and partner organizations to expand awareness for SWBTS/TBC.
  • Executes at least 4 recruitment trips each semester, including but not limited to college fairs, high school visits, conferences, state conventions, youth gatherings, etc., often including overnight stays.
  • Maintains accurate records of prospective student interactions and prepares regular reports on recruitment metrics.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure that prospective students receive comprehensive support throughout their admissions journey.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.
Supervisor / Leadership Responsibilities
  • Admissions Counselors will oversee 1 (one) part‑time team member with the purpose of achieving effective territory recruitment.
