Department SummaryThe Department of Personalized Health and Well-Being is filling this gap by bringing together an interprofessional team to develop innovative educational programs and research endeavors that focus on merging evidence-based lifestyle medicine with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) coaching competencies. Our graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and clinical skills to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams and to integrate behavior change theories into the delivery of medical nutrition therapy, preparing them to lead in advancing patient-centered, whole-person care.
Position OverviewThis adjunct faculty position plays a critical role in the development of 2-3 graduate-level clinical nutrition courses designed to prepare students for evidence-based practice within the U.S. healthcare system. The selected faculty member will lead the design, development, and refinement of online course content, ensuring alignment with program learning outcomes, accreditation requirements, institutional standards, and current best practices in clinical nutrition and healthcare delivery.
Courses will be developed for online delivery and should incorporate an interprofessional perspective, emphasizing the application of clinical nutrition across healthcare, community, and applied practice settings. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating comprehensive course materials, which may include recorded lectures, readings, case studies, applied learning activities, assignments, and assessments that support competency-based outcomes. Collaboration with program leadership, curriculum committees, and relevant stakeholders will be required to ensure consistency, rigor, and alignment with program goals.
This position is focused exclusively on course development and does not include teaching responsibilities. As part of the role, the adjunct faculty member will be required to complete any university-mandated training related to course development, learning management systems, accessibility, or instructional design. Following initial course development, the faculty member will participate in the institutional review and approval process, which may include responding to feedback, making revisions, and refining course content prior to final approval and delivery.
